A great hobby is fossil collecting, it’s good fun and a great way of getting to know about our distant past, and how diverse the creatures were that lived back then.

The place where I go is Lyme Regis and Charmouth area of dorset, if your not to sure where that is, its about 30 miles west along the coast from Weymouth

I have tried to be a bit informative with the site, I hope that any visitors that happen across here enjoy the visit.

Fossil Collectors' Code

Always collect safely and responsibly.

Look up before you look down, rockfalls are common all year around.

Stay away from the cliffs and never hammer at the cliffs.

Collect from fallen material only, choose carefully which stones you hammer.

Stay away from mud flows.

Tell someone where you are going and how long you will be.

Only collect on a falling tide.

Respect other beach users, not everyone is here to collect fossils.
